Eric Wood Race Report
Race Results - Loudon Classic Weekend
It was a tall order to break out a brand new machine for the most important weekend of the season, but we put in some long hours before the race weekend to be as ready as we could. We worked hard on our setup all weekend long, and with no real time to test the bike was different almost every time we hit the track. By the end of the event we had a package that was working well.
- Friday Results - 1st Place, Heavyweight Superbike. We made some guesses for setup and got a bike that turned well but had some chatter. We were able to win the race but knew there was a lot more work to do.
- Saturday Results - 3rd place, MWGP ( The 91st Loudon Classic). We made a bunch of guesses as to how to make the bike work for a long (20 lap) race, but with the series only offering 8 minute practices we did not have a lot of data. Our guess on setup was the wrong one....we stayed with the leaders until the halfway point and then as the race wore on I made a couple mistakes and lose touch with the leaders. My attempts to over ride the bike did not work and we had to settle for our position.
- Sunday Results - 1st Place, Unlimited Superbike. 1st place, Middleweight Superbike. We learned a lot from our setup guesses the previous day and started to make smaller changes that got us closer to our target. Instead of fading back, we started in 3rd, moved our way forward and held on for the win!
School Results - June 18, 19 and 23
We had three days of fantastic events with perfect weather, almost no incidents on the track and lots of happy students. These days featured school time, practice time, pit drills and test rides on new 2014 Kawasakis. We featured different sponsors on each days of the event and gave away prizes to students (emphasizing the quality of each company along the way) from Dunlop, Maxima, Bazzaz, VP, Held and Arai at this event. The students love this and it creates an atmosphere of appreciation and allows us to talk glowingly about our sponsors without students feeling like they are getting a sales pitch. If you would like to send any gear (hat's, tee's etc...) for us to use in this capacity, please send it along. It's really a win win. Overall we had 257 riders with us over the three days - lots of exposure for you!
